New Melksham Town manager Richard Fey has swooped at former club Street as he puts together his squad ahead of the 2019-20 season.
Fey was appointed as Melksham boss earlier this month following the surprise resignation of Kieran Baggs in the final weeks of the 2018-19 campaign.
Fey, who arrives at Melksham after a successful stint at Town’s former Southern League Division One South rivals Street, has persuaded four players who were under his guidance in Somerset to head to the infiLED Arena alongside him.
Defenders Josh Bennett and Sam Hedges, midfielder Matt Hurley and striker Phil Ormerod have all agreed to join Melksham from the Cobblers, while midfielder Aidan Chainey makes it five new signings in total.
Meanwhile, experienced striker Andy Sandell will remain at the club for the coming season after the former Newport County player confirmed his commitment to stay on.
Jordan Croad and Jack Baker have also announced their commitment to Melksham for next season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Fey said: “After speaking to Andy (Sandell) to thank him for seeing out last season, I soon realised that he wanted to stay at the club.
“He has played here before on loan and is a great signing that will help the younger lads with his experience.
