Needham Market have signed defender Russell Short, who was one of several players to leave Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division Central rivals St Neots Town this week.
The 29-year-old is a centre-half or central midfielder who brings with him a wealth of experience and quality.
He numbers Biggleswade Town, Hendon, Bury Town, Ipswich Town, Histon and Wivenhoe Town as his other former clubs.
Upon his departure from the Saints this week, Marketmen manager Richard Wilkins didn't think twice to sign the versatile player who he managed when at Bury.
"Shorty is a quality player and one who I enjoyed working with during our time at Bury Town. When I knew about him leaving St Neots he was someone who I didn't think twice about signing.
