“It’s incredible,” said Greene. “I have never known anything like it in my life. We had seven 18-year-olds in the squad for Needham Market with three or four of them starting.
“The keeper pulls up in the warm-up and then just before half-time Kets (Kettle) does his hamstring.
“We are really short on bodies with something like ten people injured or suspended.
“It has culminated in us having a really young side out.
“It’s a nightmare. It doesn’t take a lot of working out that if players are on your wage bill, under contract and they are injured, you can’t replace them."
“So if you have nine or ten people out, you have to get on with what you have got.
“We can’t go out and sign ten players to replace those that are injured.
“So we have to get on with it. If we could get players to come in and play for nothing we could get ten or 15 players but we know in the real world that doesn’t happen.
