Needham Market moved into third place in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division Central table on Tuesday night after a hard-earned 2-1 win at The Lamb against struggling Tamworth.
Gareth Heath broke the deadlock to give the Marketmen the lead 3 minutes into the second half.
But the visitors were reduced to ten-men following Sam Squire’s 66th-minute dismissal for two yellow cards.
Aman Verma made them pay with a Lambs` equaliser in the 76th minute.
But Reece Dobson popped up with an 85th-minute winner for the Suffolk outfit.
Another side from Suffolk, Leiston, were looking to move to within a couple of points of the top five when they travelled to The Premier Plus Stadium to take on struggling St Neots Town.
But the Saints, buoyed by last weekend`s win over Royston Town which ended a poor run of results, ran out 2-0 winners with goals at either end of the game and move out of the bottom three.
The hosts scored within 110 seconds of the start of the game when Devante Stanley`s low cross was steered home from close range at the near post by Jordan Norville-Williams.
And then in the 2nd minute of stoppage time, a handball offence allowed Dylan Williams to double the Saints lead from the penalty spot.
