In the City Securities Services League Challenge Cup First Round tie at Royston Town, it was discovered that Hitchin Town had reportedly fielded an ineligible player in that match. The League subsequently charged the Club with such and was found guilty, with the Club being expelled from the Competition. Hitchin Town exercised their right to appeal the decision to the Football Association and on Wednesday 28th November the case was heard. The FA Appeal Panel upheld the appeal of Hitchin Town and in doing so reinstated them into the Competition. Furthermore, the decision was that the First Round tie is to be replayed.
Following the aforementioned decision the First Round tie will be replayed on Tuesday 11th December at Royston Town and as a result Hitchin Town versus King’s Lynn Town in the Premier Division Central on Wednesday 12th December is postponed.
